BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — At the end of the first half of the 2026 season opener, Indiana leads North Texas 24-6.
First-year IU quarterback Josh Hoover was near perfect in the opening half of the season. Hoover was 7-of-8 passing and threw for 100 yards with two passing touchdowns. Wide receiver Nick Marsh scored the first touchdown of the season with just two minutes gone in the first quarter.
Marsh caught a one-handed 15-yard touchdown pass from Hoover to give Indiana a 7-0 lead with 13:40 remaining in the first quarter. Then, with one play left in the first quarter, running back Turbo Richard punched in a 2-yard rush at the goal line to put the score at 14-0.
Junior wide receiver Charlie Becker tacked on one last Indiana touchdown before halftime, a 9-yard touchdown reception hauled in at the back of the end zone to give the Hoosiers a 21-3 lead.
