INDIANAPOLIS — A child was in the hospital Saturday evening after almost drowning in a pond at an apartment complex on the city’s northwest side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, shortly after 4 p.m., officers were called to the 7600 block of Island Club Drive on the report of a missing child possibly in the water. That location is the Loch Haven Apartment Homes, located between U.S. 136 and I-74.

Arriving officers found a child in the water and were able to pull them out. The child was taken to the hospital, where medical staff were able to revive them.
On Friday night, a boy died after drowning in a pond at a Speedway apartment complex. Police say he was unresponsive when officers arrived and that he later died at the hospital. IMPD detectives believe the child’s death was an “accidental drowning,” but the Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death at a later time.
On Thursday afternoon, a body was found in the Eagle Creek Reservoir. Investigators have not said how the person died.
