INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman died in a shooting Thursday night at an housing addition east of downtown Indianapolis, police say.
A person of interest was in custody.
Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were sent 9:20 p.m. Thursday to the first block of Hendricks Place. The address was for a house in the State Plaza addition located north of East Washington Street and east of State Avenue.
Details from IMPD came about a half-hour after the shooting. It was not immediately known what may have led to the shooting, or any information about the person shot. Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
It was the first of two fatal shootings Thursday night in Indianapolis. The other fatal shooting happened at a housing subdivision on the northeast side.
