Marcus’ 4 a.m. Friday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Very warm and sunny autumn days through the extended forecast.
Today:
A dense fog advisory is in effect over central and northern Indiana through 9:00 AM EDT. Some areas of patchy dense fog have been noted early, but not as widespread as what we experienced earlier in the week.

The fog is expected to dissipate by mid-morning as temperatures climb, leading to a pleasant afternoon with full sunshine and temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s.

Tonight:
Tonight will feature clear and cool conditions, with lows dropping into the 50s. Although widespread fog is unlikely, patchy fog may form in isolated, low-lying areas.

This weekend:
Looking ahead, the weekend will bring unseasonably warm temperatures with highs climbing into the low to mid-80s, about 10 degrees above normal for late September.

Next week:
An upper-level ridge will dominate the weather pattern, leaving central Indiana dry and sunny conditions through early next week.
By midweek, cooler Canadian air may bring a slight cool down. A tropical system moving near the Carolina coastline could also bring in a slight uptick in humidity and cloud cover by mid-week.

Dry and warm conditions continue:
No real break from the warm temperatures. The extended forecast keeps us above average.

Even worse, the drought conditions that continue to progress, will only get worse over the coming weeks. Most of the state is now considered to be in a moderate drought, with some areas classified as a severe drought.
There are no signs of significant rainfall over the next 7 days, and the 8-14 day outlook also looks quite dry.
