Marcus’ 4 a.m. Friday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The forecast for the coming week is dry and comfortable, with temperatures running near average for late May.
Fantastic Friday: Warm and Quiet Conditions
After the relentless parade of storm systems that defined most of May, the forecast for the coming week is almost boring — and that’s a very good thing.
An Omega Block pattern locking high pressure over the central U.S. and Canada remains firmly in control, keeping the region dry through at least the middle of next week. Temperatures will run near average for late May — nothing extreme in either direction.
The one minor note today: increasing mid-to-high clouds are expected to drift in late this afternoon into Saturday as a band of moisture associated with a distant disturbance lifts northeastward. It won’t bring rain, just some filtered sunshine.

The Weekend: Mostly Sunny and Slightly Cooler
Saturday and Sunday look fine. High temperatures will hit the middle 70s.
Late Sunday into Monday, a weak shortwave could briefly nudge through if the Omega Block relaxes just enough to let it in. The odds are low — but an isolated shower can’t be completely ruled out
Early Next Week: A Weak Front, No Rain
The Omega Block reinforces itself early next week before a weak cold front sweeps through behind a upper level wave diving south across the eastern Great Lakes. The front brings no meaningful precipitation — but it could nudge temperatures slightly cooler for a day or two before high pressure reasserts itself and settles the region back into quiet, uneventful weather through midweek.
No real signs of precipitation until at least next Friday.
