INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was in critical condition after a Sunday night shooting outside a strip mall’s restaurant just west of Castleton Square Mall, police said.
Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called shortly before 8:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of a person shot and an unsafe gunshot scene in the 8400 blocks of Castleton Corner Drive.
Capt. Richard Ray with IMPD said while he stood outside Chai& Kathi Roll Lounge, a restaurant, that the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident. Ray said of the man who was shot, “The individual appears to be affiliated with this business behind me.”
Police investigators were gathering information from witnesses in their efforts to find a suspect, Ray said. They have learned it happened just outside the rear of the business.
Employees and customers were in the restaurant at the time of the shooting, Ray said. A sign on the restaurant says it was established in 2022.
No additional information was immediately available.
