Colts Insider has high praise for Jonathan Taylor
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Jonathan Taylor has been on a tear to start the season.
After going for 215 total yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 win against the Broncos, Taylor followed it up with 118 yards total yards and three touchdowns in the Week 3 win against the Titans.
Going back to the last three games of the 2024 season, Taylor has rushed for 858 yards (with five 100+ yard games) and nine touchdowns in his last six games.
“If you look at it, three games this season, three games to end last year, it’s one of the best stretches he’s ever had in his career,” WISH-TV Colts Insider Kevin Bowen said. “And it is the best stretch of any NFL running back in that time frame.”
Bowen has covered the Colts for 15 years and is a radio host for 107.5 The Fan, hosting “The Fan Morning Show.” This is his third season as WISH-TV’s Colts Insider.
Taylor has been especially impressive in the second half of games this season. He has 25 carries for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, averaging 8.8 yards per attempt.
“That’s the energizer bunny,” Bowen said. “That’s a guy that’s not getting tired and while the defense is going hands on their hips, Taylor’s taking his game to another level.”
Taylor has helped lead the Colts to an unbeaten 3-0 record to start the season. Two of the Colts wins have come by 20 or more points.
“You heard the word dominant in Week 3,” Bowen said. “How about Week 1 as well? NFL teams don’t blow out other NFL teams. It’s very rare, and for the Colts to have now done it twice in the first three weeks, I think that’s what stands out the most to me.”
Bowen added that before this season, the last time the Colts beat a team by 20 points or more was back in 2021, and now they have done it twice in three games this season.
Taylor and the Colts will look to continue their hot start to the season on Sunday when they travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
