SYCAMORE, Ind. (WISH) — The Howard County Coroner’s Office says a woman found dead in a pole barn Friday afternoon possibly died by carbon monoxide poisoning.
The coroner’s office on Monday said they were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of East County Road 200 North in rural Howard County east of Kokomo just before 4 p.m. Friday.
There, they located a woman dead in a pole barn. Coroners identified the victim as Lacy Alexander, 45, a resident of the property.
Investigators believe Alexander died due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning; Alexander had been using a gas powered washer to clean out stalls in the barn.
The coroner’s office says an autopsy was performed Monday, but the final cause and manner of death are pending toxicology and lab results. They do not believe foul play was involved.
