Visitation held for Delaware County Corporal Blake Reynolds
MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — Visitation services for Corporal Blake Reynolds, the Delaware County deputy who died after getting hit by a truck on I-65, took place Friday afternoon.
The service was held at Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. Hundreds of law enforcement officials paid their respects.
Inside the sanctuary, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, as well as other agencies, paid their respects to Reynolds. Chief Deputy Jeff Stanley carried the folded flag down the isle to place near the casket, and Sheriff Tony Skinner made remarks at the ceremony.
Law enforcement were inside the church for about 15 minutes. A deputy will stay by Blake’s casket until the funeral.
Lt. John Branson, of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, believes this may be the first death in the line of duty at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Branson said Blake is one of the best people he’s ever worked with, and he appreciates all of the support.
“In times of trouble with law enforcement, when you lose an officer, all agencies typically come together and support the agencies that’s suffering,” Branson said. “So, it’s been overwhelming.”
Reynolds’ funeral is being held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Delta High School in Muncie.
