Visitation and funeral details announced for Lynn Town Marshal Brad Fisher

LYNN, Ind. (WISH) — The Lynn Fire Department has announced details for the visitation and funeral services for Lynn Town Marshal Brad Fisher.

Fisher, a 27-year member of the Lynn Police Department, died Wednesday morning when a suspect fleeing police in a stolen van struck him as he tried to deploy stop sticks.

The suspect, 34-year-old Maci Marquelle Atkinson of Winchester, had active warrants for her arrest. She was listed as an inmate in the Randolph County jail as of Friday morning.

Outside of his work in law enforcement, the 50-year-old Fisher served as a fire captain and a dispatcher. A 3-mile-long procession consisting of police, fire, and other vehicles alike traveled from Muncie to Union City on Thursday morning, escorting Fisher to the Reichard Funeral Home.

Ahead of Saturday’s observation, hundreds gathered at the baseball diamond of Randolph Southern Junior-Senior High School on Thursday night to pay respects to Fisher. Mourners remembered Fisher as a “family man” and “public servant who wore many hats.”

His daughter, Zoe Fisher, said at the vigil she, her family, and the community would make sure his life isn’t forgotten.

“My dad was truly a one-of-a-kind man who touched the lives and hearts of so many people,” she said. “We love and miss you, Dad, and we’ll make sure your legacy lives on forever.”

  • Funeral service: 4 p.m.

The department says after the funeral service, police honors will be held at Spartanburg Cemetery.

“We invite all emergency service personnel and apparatus wishing to pay their respects to join us in honoring Marshal Fisher’s dedicated service and sacrifice,” the department said. “Please continue to keep the Fisher family, his law enforcement family, and all those affected in your thoughts during this difficult time.”

Other details regarding parking, the funeral procession, and parking for emergency apparatuses will be posted sometime Saturday.
