These 23 games will have highlights on The Zone in Week 5

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s another exciting week in high school football in central Indiana.

Tune in to WISH-TV at 11:08 p.m. on Friday night to see highlights from these 23 games on “The Zone” in Week 5 of the season.

#8 (6A) Fishers at #1 (6A) Brownsburg

Fishers picked up a big win last week against their rival, HSE. Brownsburg also picked up a win in a rivalry game, beating Avon, 55-47, in a high scoring affair. Brownsburg and Fishers are two of the remaining three unbeaten teams in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference (Westfield is the other team). Fishers hasn’t beaten Brownsburg since 2015.

#5 (6A) Westfield at #7 (6A) HSE

Westfield has gotten two dominant victories since losing to Carmel, only allowing 10 total points to Zionsville and Noblesville. HSE lost its first game of the season to Fishers last week. Westfield has won three straight games against the Royals.

Columbus North at #4 (6A) Carmel

Carmel picked up their first loss of the season last week to Trinity (KY), but are still undefeated in the state of Indiana. They’ll look to get back on track against Columbus North, who lost its first game against Roncalli last week.

#10 (6A) Warren Central at Ben Davis

Warren Central has won three straight games since losing its opener to Center Grove. Ben Davis is 1-3 and is coming off a loss to Center Grove. The two teams are 2-2 against each other in their last four matchups.

#6 (4A) Pendleton Heights at #1 (5A) New Palestine

It’s a matchup between undefeated teams in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. New Palestine picked up another shutout win last week, its second of the season. Pendleton Heights last beat New Palestine in 2012.

#4 (5A) Cathedral at Southport

Cathedral got their second win of the season last week, beating Bishop Chatard. It was also the first week that the Fighting Irish scored more than 10 points. Southport (0-4) is looking for its first win of the season.

Brebeuf Jesuit at #2 (4A) Bishop Chatard

Chatard lost its first game of the season to Cathedral last week. The Trojans will look to bounce back against Brebeuf, who is looking for its first win of the season.

#9 (4A) Roncalli at Guerin Catholic

Roncalli snapped its two game losing streak last week, beating Columbus North by 21. Guerin Catholic is 3-1 and is coming off two wins in a row. Roncalli and Guerin Catholic have played nine times since 2016, with Roncalli winning every matchup.

Franklin Central at Avon

Avon has lost back-to-back games since starting the season 0-2, but both losses have been by one score to top ten teams. The Orioles will look to get their first conference win against Franklin Central, who beat Zionsville last week. The Flashes are 3-1, with their only loss coming to Brownsburg.

Zionsville at Noblesville

Zionsville has lost three games in a row since starting the season with a win against Pike. Noblesville is also on a three game losing streak. Zionsville won the matchup last year.

Lawrence Central at Pike

Lawrence Central (2-2) lost last week to Warren Central. Pike got its first win of the season last week, shutting out Southport. Pike last beat Lawrence Central in 2020.

Decatur Central at Mooresville

Decatur Central has won back-to-back games since starting the season 0-2, and looks to keep its unbeaten conference start going this week against Mooresville. The Pioneers are 3-1, with their only loss coming against Plainfield. Decatur Central has won the last two games in the series.

Harrison at North Central

North Central has lost three straight games since winning its season opener. Harrison is 2-2, with wins against West Lafayette and Brebeuf.

Greenwood at #3 (5A) Plainfield

Greenwood has lost three straight games since beating Seymour in their opener. Plainfield is still undefeated. Greenwood has not beaten Plainfield since 2015.

Shelbyville at Greenfield-Central

Greenfield-Central is 2-2 and is coming off a lopsided loss to Pendleton Heights. Shelbyville is 3-1, with its only loss coming to Delta.

Whiteland at Perry Meridian

Whiteland is 2-2 and beat their rival, Franklin, on the road last week. Perry Meridian is also 2-2, and the Falcons are coming off a loss to Plainfield.

Franklin at Martinsville

Franklin has lost two games in a row since starting its season 2-0. Martinsville is just 1-3 after going 12-2 last season.

Clinton Prairie at Sheridan

Both teams have started their seasons 2-1. Sheridan beat Clinton Prairie twice last season.

Shenandoah at Park Tudor

Park Tudor is off to an undefeated start, and are beating their opponents by an average of 31 points per game. Shenandoah is 2-2.

Monrovia at Beech Grove

Monrovia is 1-3 and lost its Hoosier Legends Conference opener to Triton Central last week. Beech Grove lost its first game last week, getting shutout by Indian Creek in its conference opener.

Bedford North Lawrence at Seymour

Seymour is looking for its first win of the season. Bedford North Lawrence has won back-to-back games and has started the season 3-1.

Covenant Christian at Scecina (at Roncalli)

Scecina has lost two games in a row since starting the season 2-0. Covenant Christian is 1-3.

Delta at Mount Vernon

Delta is 1-3 this season and 1-1 in conference play. Mount Vernon is searching for its first win of the season.
