INDIANAPOLIS — It has been one week since a hit-and-run driver killed 56-year-old Terry Sadberry while she was riding her bicycle on the city’s west side. Police say the driver never stopped.
Now, her twin sister is speaking about the loss, what she believes happened that night, and her plea for the community to help.
For 56 years, Terry Sadberry and her twin sister, Sherry, shared a bond unlike any other. But now, one week after Terry’s death, Sherry is left with memories and questions about how her sister’s life ended so suddenly.
“We’re all hurting because we never expected it,” Sherry Krane said. “It was sudden. We miss here. We’re still in disbelief. She’s a mother, she’s a grandmother, a sister, great-aunt, a daughter.”
Krane said Terry loved cooking and riding her bike—memories that are now especially precious.
“She’s a beautiful person,” Krane said. “She’s giving, she’ll take care of you, she’s funny, she loves karaoke… Just a very sweet person.”
On the evening of Oct. 4, Terry was riding her bike when police say a vehicle hit her from behind. Krane said Terry was on her way to cook for her grandchild.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police found her near West Michigan Street and Grande Avenue around 10:30 p.m. She died at the scene.
Krane is urging neighbors and businesses in the area to share surveillance footage with police. She is specifically asking for video recorded between 9 p.m. and midnight that night.
“It’s gotta be somebody that works over in this area or lives in the area,” Krane said. “I want to see if that house has cameras; there’s a restaurant right there and Allison Transmission—they got to have cameras.”
Police have not confirmed those suspicions. The investigation continues, and authorities have not released information about the driver or vehicle. Now, Terry’s sister hopes someone in the community knows something and is willing to speak up.
“I know someone has had to have seen someone that had damage to their car in the last week,” Krane said. “Question that person. She’s my identical twin sister, and I just want justice for her.”
