Authorities say no credible evidence was found after threats of violence were made to two central Indiana high schools on Friday.
Avon High School
According to an alert from Avon High School, the school was placed on a lock down around 2:14 p.m. Friday.
School officials tell News 8 that the lockdown has since been lifted and the school campus is currently under a “secure the building” status after an anonymous call.
According to the alert sent out, the call referenced threats outside of the building, and the interior of the school was not threatened.
A sweep of both the interior and exterior of the school found no threats, according to school officials. Who say all students are safe and will remain in classrooms until early dismissal.
Traffic is currently being blocked from entering the campus until an investigation is completed.
Zionsville Community High School
Superintendent Rebecca Coffman of Zionsville Community Schools said a threat of a bomb or multiple bombs was received at 2 p.m. Friday, and search was made of the campus.
Coffman said police deemed the threat “non-credible.”
The school principal told News 8’s Tim Spears that no one was hurt but wouldn’t give an interview and walked away before News 8 could ask questions. The school was about to have normal dismissal at 3:20 p.m. Friday.
News 8’s Tim Spears contributed to this report.
