INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Amazon has announced plans to build a new 1,000,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Greenfield and bring hundreds of new jobs to Hancock County.
The company says the new facility will use cutting-edge technology to process large orders and distribute them to other fulfillment centers across the state, allowing it to increase
“We’re proud to grow our presence in Hancock County as we continue expanding our Indiana fulfillment network,” Kyle DeGiulio, Amazon’s regional senior economic development manager, said in a release Tuesday. “This latest expansion reinforces our long-term commitment to the region.”
This expansion is part of Amazon’s ongoing growth in Indiana, where the company has invested over $25.5 billion since 2010.
The Greenfield facility will offer both full- and part-time roles, with full-time employees earning an average starting wage of $23 per hour. Employees will also receive benefits from day one, including healthcare coverage, paid parental leave, and full college tuition funding.
