Sept 18, 2025 morning forecast with Tara Hastings
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hot and dry conditions continue for the end of the week. We will see rain chances move back into the forecast for the end of the weekend.
We are still on the hunt for some rainfall. Indianapolis is running about an inch below normal for the month of September. Looking ahead in the next 7 days we may see some rainfall pushing into the state which will help that deficit. Another couple of dry days before we finally see some much-needed rain.
TODAY: Sunny skies in dry conditions throughout the entire afternoon today. We will look for humidity values to stay on the lower side through much of the afternoon. Look for high temperatures to climb into the upper ’80s right around 90 degrees.

Air quality alert in place for today until midnight. Mainly for high ozone levels. If you are in a sensitive group and have some breathing issues you may have some problems in the afternoon hours during the peak heating of the day.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies tonight we’ll see low temperatures into the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny skies again for your Friday with high temperatures climbing close to 90 degrees. We will see those humidity values stay low but it is going to be dry all day. If you are heading to those high school football games on Friday no rain is expected but it will be a toasty one at kickoff.

7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Sunny skies expected for your Saturday with high temperatures into the mid and upper ’80s. We are going to look for some rain chances to move back into the forecast for Sunday also into early next week as well.

We could definitely use the rain and it looks like over the next 7 days we have the potential to pick up right around a half an inch, maybe up to an inch in some spots. Temperatures do drop into the lower 80s on Monday which is still above normal for this time of year. Monday is the first official day of fall.
