LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a Jeep in Lafayette Wednesday night, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
At 9:03 p.m. Wednesday, Lafayette officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of South 18th Street on a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep SUV.
Lafayette Fire Department personnel and medics arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was identified as Adam Lucas, 29, of Lafayette.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as Aramis Piris, 25, of Lafayette, was not injured in the collision.
Witnesses indicated that the motorcycle was traveling northbound prior to the crash. Early indications are that the front of the motorcycle collided with the rear of the Jeep. All of the factors contributing to the crash are still under investigation.
