INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that lane closures on I-65 in downtown Indianapolis for bridge repairs will be a little longer than anticipated.
INDOT announced Sunday CSX crews discovered that the damage to the railroad bridge over I-65 was more extensive than initially believed, leading up to the extension.
Here’s what the closures look like:
- I-65 southbound will be down to one lane from the North Split to Fletcher Avenue until Friday.
- The Washington Street ramp to I-65 southbound will also be closed through the end of the week.
- One-hour stoppage is possible on I-65 southbound between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
Here’s how to great around it:
- Through traffic on I-65 SB should hop off on Exit 111.
- Through traffic on I-70 WB should take Exit 83A.
INDOT shared another reminder that all work is dependent on the weather, and to please drive safely and slowly through construction zones.
