Dense fog and rain to blanket central Indiana today | Nov. 21, 2025

Marcus’ 4 a.m. Friday forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dense fog is expected to linger through mid-morning across the northern half of central Indiana, while rain expands from the southwest throughout the day.

Today:

Showers will expand from southwest to northeast. This increase in rainfall coverage should gradually improve visibilities across the area. Widespread rain will then continue into the afternoon hours, with a moderate pockets of rain throughout the day.

Total rainfall amounts will range from 0.1″ in northern Indiana, to as high as 0.5-0.75″ in central and southern portions of the state.

Temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable due to the persistent stratus deck, with highs mainly in the low 50s.

Tonight:

Rain will slowly move out overnight, and clouds will break as we move closer to daybreak. Overnight lows will dip down to the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Weekend:

Looking ahead to the weekend, seasonably mild and mostly dry weather is anticipated as high pressure brings in quiet conditions and seasonal temperatures.

Holiday week:

Early next week, another significant rain event is forecasted as an area of low pressure moves into the Midwest. This could lead to widespread rain starting Monday night into Tuesday.

The pattern turns much colder following Tuesday’s system, with highs failing to hit 50° on Wednesday, and Thanksgiving highs on hitting the upper 30s with wind chills in the 20s around lunch time.

The cold is likely to persist for a while. The 8-14 day outlook calls for below average temperatures as we enter the month of December.
