Dallas Clark impressed with Tyler Warren
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Former Colts tight end Dallas Clark joined Countdown to Kickoff as the celebrity guest on Sunday ahead of the Colts matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
One of the big reasons why the Colts are off to an 8-2 start to the season and in first place in the AFC South is rookie tight end Tyler Warren.
Warren leads the Colts in receiving yards (617) and is second on the team in receptions (50). He’s third in the NFL amongst tight ends in receiving yards and tied for fourth among tight ends in receptions.
Clark owns some records with the Colts, including the most receptions and receiving yards in franchise history in a single season by a tight end, but he thinks Warren is going to break them all.
“He’s unreal, and what’s great about this kid, is he’s so mature and he just goes to work,” Clark said. “He’s quiet and he utilizes his talents. He doesn’t try to be someone he’s not. He knows exactly what his strengths are and Shane (Steichen) has done a phenomenal job using his strengths and getting him the ball in space. What’s great about his stats is his YAC (yards after catch). I mean, this guy, you better bring a couple dudes to the party to bring him down. He’s tough and loves running and finds physical contact. He’s special, and you don’t see that a lot out of a rookie.”
Warren has 373 yards after catch this season, which is seventh best in the NFL and first among tight ends.
Dallas Clark played nine years with the Colts and was inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor in 2024. He was a one-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowler.
Clark had 427 catches, 4,887 receiving yards, and 46 touchdowns with the Colts. He also won Super Bowl XLI with Indianapolis.
The Colts look to take down the Kansas City Chiefs on the road on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
