BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Three families have been displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment in Bargersville on Saturday evening, according to the Bargersville Community Fire Department.
At 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Bargersville firefighters responded to a report of an apartment fire in the 3200 block of Hartshire South Drive. Firefighters arrived and observed light smoke from the front of the apartment building, with heavy smoke condition in the apartment building.
Firefighters conducted an interior attack and primary search, confirming that all occupants were out of the apartment building. The fire was contained to the original apartment unit and marked out at 4:23 p.m. Saturday.
At 5:17 p.m. Saturday, the fire was extinguished. Multiple apartments sustained smoke and water damage.
Three families have been displaced and were unable to return to their homes. The Bargersville Community Fire Department worked with apartment management and Fire Angels to ensure the affected residents received temporary assistance and resources.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
