CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — Two Carmel police officers fired at and injured a man Thursday night on U.S. 31, Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said.
No officers were injured, but the man was taken to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Perrine said earlier on X that the shooting happened on 116th Street along U.S. 31.
The Hamilton County dispatch system showed the Carmel Fire Department was sent at 6:34 p.m. Thursday to a shooting in the first block of U.S. 31.
Additional details were to be provided later Thursday night.
Southbound lanes were to remain closed for several hours, Perrine said.
