Delaware County Corporal Blake Reynolds laid to rest at Jones Cemetery

YORKTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – It was a somber, reverent ceremony at Jones Cemetery in Yorktown as Delaware County Cpl. Blake Reynolds was laid to rest.

Following funeral services at Delta High School in Muncie, a pipe band and a riderless horse with the Indiana National Guard Caisson Platoon led Reynolds’ body to the gravesite.

On Nov. 12, Reynolds was killed in the line of duty after he was struck by a semitruck while trying to help a stranded motorist on I-69. The 31-year-old joined the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office after serving in the National Guard.

Reynolds’ brother, Dustin, led pallbearers.

After a playing of taps, the flag draped over Reynolds’ casket was folded and delivered to his family. Mourners then lined up to pay final respects, each leaving a single flower on his casket, before his body was buried.

Reynolds is survived by his wife, Allison, his parents, grandparents, and a brother, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.
