INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says three people are dead and another person is injured after late night gunfire on the northwest side.
Police were called just after 11:40 p.m. on Monday night to a home on Guion Road, south of West 52nd street. Officers say they found three people shot. Two were dead at the scene and the third died at a hospital.
Later, police say they found a 4th victim from the same shooting, but did not say where officers found the person. Police have not given a condition for the fourth victim so far.
As for what led to the gunfire, investigators say they need help from the public.
“We truly don’t know what happened. we’re hoping that there are some witnesses that saw and maybe saw but they haven’t come forward yet, maybe some doorbell cameras, or someone that was here. So we ask the public if you know anything, please call 327-TIPS” Captain Rob Rider said.
That’s the number for Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana. Police say you can also call 911.
Investigators say other houses in the neighborhood were struck by gunfire, but so far, no other injuries have been reported.
