42-year-old man injured in Hartford City police shooting; 2 arrested

HARTFORD CITY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police is investigating a police shooting in Hartford City that resulted in injuries to a 42-year-old man.

Just before 9 a.m. Thursday, officers from the Hartford City Police Department were serving a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of South Jefferson Street in Hartford City. While attempting to arrest two people at the residence, Glen Wilburn, 42, of Hartford City, was shot and injured. Medical aid was given by officers on scene until emergency medical services personnel arrived.

Wilburn was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and later released back into police custody. No officers were injured during the incident.

Glen Wilburn was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, dealing in methamphetamine, possession of cocaine or narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, obliterating identification marks on a handgun, maintaining a common nuisance, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Amanda Adams, 37, of Dunkirk, Indiana, was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of cocaine or narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

The Hartford City Police Department is working with Indiana State Police investigators to determine what caused the shooting.
