INDIANAPOLIS (WISH-TV) – Heat & humidity will continue on July 4th but scattered storms may provided needed relief. Some storms may be strong with gusty winds and heavy rain.

FRIDAY EVENING/NIGHT:
A few spotty evening storms are possible with the chance for a few more later tonight, especially north of Indy. Lows will be in the 70s.

4TH OF JULY:
Warm and humid air continues. Look for highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s with heat indices likely into the 100s.

A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for Central Indiana through 8 PM. While there may be a few spotty showers and storms early in the day, the better chance of scattered storms will occur from mid afternoon through mid evening. A few storms could be on the strong side with gusty winds, torrential rainfall, and dangerous lightning. We’re hopeful that all of the fireworks can go on as scheduled but we’ll have to wait and see.

SUNDAY:
The holiday weekend closes out on a warm and muggy note with scattered storms still possible. Highs should be in the upper 80s to around 90.
NEXT WEEK:
A few more storms are possible on Monday but the odds of rain & storms will lower a bit Tuesday into Wednesday. Some additional showers & storms are likely by Thursday and Friday. Overall, conditions will be less extreme in terms of heat.
