Win or go home for the Indiana Fever
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Fever have a chance to move into the next round of the WNBA Playoffs on Thursday night when they play the Dream in a winner-take-all Game 3 in Atlanta.
The Fever are hosting an official Round 1 Game 3 Watch Party at the District Tap, 141 S. Meridian St. in downtown Indianapolis.
The party will feature a prize wheel, appearances by Freddy Fever and the Fever Inferno, and the game itself!
The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
The Fever, who have overcome injuries to star players like Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, won Game 2 on Tuesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to tie up the series.
Kelsey Mitchell, who was recently named to the Associated Press’ All-WNBA First Team, has been the star of the Fever’s playoff run. In Game 1, Mitchell had a team-high 27 points, and in Game 2, she put up 19.
Fever head coach Stephanie White had this to say after Tuesday night’s 77-60 win:
“This is a group that’s confidence is really never wavered. We’ve been in every kind of situation you can imagine and we’ve been able to find ways to put ourselves in position to win and this will be no different. Obviously, it’s going to be on the opponents home floor, but it doesn’t matter. I think for us our, if we maintain out attention to detail, if we continue the defensive effort, that we had tonight and we shoot with confidence, we give ourselves a chance.”
The winner of Game 3 tonight will advance to face the winner of Game 3 between Las Vegas and Seattle in the semifinals.
