INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police were investigating Thursday after officers found a woman shot early Thursday morning near Fountain Square.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the woman was found just after 2 a.m. at a home on Spann Avenue, just off the intersection of Keystone and Southeastern avenues. That’s a residential area northeast of Fountain Square.
IMPD says officers were at the scene earlier for a disturbance call. The officers left, but were still nearby when investigators say they heard gunshots.
Police at the scene told News 8 the victim and the witnesses were “not cooperating.”
Officers were still trying to figure out what led to the shooting.
