Summer heat fades to start of fall, scattered showers return early week | September 20, 2025

Sept. 20 | Evening Forecast with Meteorologist Drew Narsutis

TONIGHT

Mostly cloudy skies hold through the evening; a few spotty showers or a rumble of thunder may pass by late, then many neighborhoods turn quiet overnight. Lows settle in the mid 60s with a light south breeze around 5 mph. Any rain that develops should be brief, and most places stay dry for long stretches.

TOMORROW

Intervals of sun mix with building clouds; highs reach the mid 80s with a touch of humidity returning. A few pop up showers or storms are possible in the afternoon, but many hours will be dry and warm. Winds turn from southeast to southwest around 5 to 10 mph, and outdoor plans can proceed with a simple umbrella backup.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Clouds thicken and rain chances increase late; showers become likely toward daybreak with a few embedded thunderstorms. Lows hold in the mid 60s with a south southwest breeze near 5 mph. Rainfall should be manageable, but brief downpours are possible where storms track overhead.

MONDAY

Fall officially begins in the afternoon; a cooler and cloudier day unfolds with showers likely and a few rumbles of thunder. Highs ease back to the upper 70s, and a southwest wind near 5 to 10 mph keeps the air moving. Expect on and off rain, along with dry breaks between bands.

MONDAY NIGHT

Periods of rain continue; a few storms linger before a gradual easing late. Lows sit in the mid 60s with a light south breeze near 5 mph. Roadways may be damp for the Tuesday morning drive, but widespread flooding is not expected.

TUESDAY

Mostly cloudy skies dominate; scattered showers continue and an isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible. Highs return to the upper 70s with a light southwest wind around 5 mph. It will not be a washout, but keep rain gear handy for passing showers.

TUESDAY NIGHT

Showers remain possible in spots; lows hold in the mid 60s under mostly cloudy skies and light, variable breezes. Any thunder should fade quickly after sunset.

WEDNESDAY

Clouds linger at times; scattered showers persist through the day with highs near the mid 70s. A light east wind around 5 to 10 mph adds a cooler feel compared to the weekend. Coverage will be uneven, so expect dry windows between showers.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT

The run closes with a mellow, cooler feel; scattered showers taper in places while lows dip to the low 60s with a light east northeast breeze near 5 mph. Skies stay mostly cloudy with occasional breaks.

7 DAY FORECAST

After several hot days, the new week settles into a milder pattern as fall arrives. Temperatures step down from the mid 80s on Sunday to the mid and upper 70s through midweek, while nightly lows settle in the 60s. Daily shower chances return Monday through Wednesday, featuring on and off bands rather than all day rain. Looking beyond this run, the broader trend favors near seasonable temperatures with periodic shower chances, and more dry hours than wet as we move deeper into the first week of fall.
