INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Colts are off to their first 2-0 start since 2009 after beating the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos to start the season.
Daniel Jones is off to a great start in Indy, having thrown for 588 yards and two touchdowns, while adding three touchdowns on the ground as well.
Jonathan Taylor had a big game against the Denver Broncos, racking up 215 total yards and a touchdown.
The team has still yet to punt through two weeks, and the defense has forced four turnovers.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen shared what stands out to him about the early success of the team.
“I think they’re playing together,” Steichen said. “I think everyone’s dialed in every day. They’re playing for one another. The camaraderie is great. You can feel it in this building. They get together a lot, go to dinners during the week. I think that pays dividends, and these guys are playing together at a high level. We got to continue that and demand it every week, and stay disciplined in our approach.”
Up next for the Colts is their first road game and first AFC South game so far this season. The team will travel to play the the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
“My message is discipline,” Steichen said. “Trusting the process, every week, every day, every meeting. Obviously, division games on the road are always tough, and we got to stay locked in, focused, on all the details, the walk-throughs, the meetings, go execute at a high level.”
The Colts have won their last four games against the Titans.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
