Rain today and more this week | Sept 22, 2025

Sept 22, 2025 morning forecast with Tara Hastings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –  Much needed rain will head in our direction. Not only today but for the next couple of days as well. A few spotty thunderstorms could be possible this afternoon as well across parts of Indiana. Keep the rain gear handy not only today but for the next several days as well.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy conditions through much of the day today with some isolated thunderstorms. One or two thunderstorms could contain some gusty winds which is why the Southeastern part of the state is under a marginal risk. Rain will be possible on and off throughout the day today. Look for high temperatures to be into the middle ’70s.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers in a few rumbles of thunder possible later tonight. Look for mostly cloudy skies with low temperatures falling to 64. Could see a little bit of patchy fog developing as well.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy skies for your Tuesday more rain chances will be possible with on and off showers and thunderstorms. Look for high temperatures to climb into the upper 70s.

7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: More rain chances possible on Wednesday as an area of low pressure in the upper levels the atmosphere gets cut off and just going to hang out across parts of the Great Lakes. We will look for mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures on the cooler side Wednesday. Highs only around 73. More rain chances possible on Thursday with highs in the lower ’70s. And another chance for a few spotty showers on Friday with partly cloudy skies highs in the middle ’70s.

We could see around an inch, maybe up to 2 inches of rainfall over the next 7 days from all of our rain chances. This will definitely help out our moderate drought that we have across much of the state.
