WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A battery and harassment involving an adult and a child during a back-to-school event was reported Wednesday, Westfield Police Department said in a Thursday news release.
The incident happened around 6:10 p.m. Aug. 10 at 18250 N. Union St., police said. That’s the address for Westfield High School.
No other details on what happened were in the release.
On Aug. 10, online calendars show the district’s high and middle schools hosted ROCK Welcome Days, an orientation for students ahead of the first day of classes. Classes started Monday at Westfield Washington Schools.
Chief Shawn Keen said in the release that the department will investigate the matter professionally and objectively. He noted that the department does not comment on active investigations.
