INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died and a second was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after a crash on Indy’s near east side.
Online police reports show the call for a fatal accident at East 25th Street and North Sherman Drive came in around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday.
That’s in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood just north of Massachusetts Avenue.
When officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived, they learned the men struck a utility pole.
Medics pronounced the driver dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
IMPD says the area of Sherman Drive and 25th Street will be closed while crews are on the scene.
