INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A death investigation is underway by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department after a body was found in a Castleton retention pond.
Around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, IMPD North District officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 82nd Street and Craig Street on a report of a dive rescue. That intersection is near a commercial area on the city’s northeast side.
Officers arrived and pulled a body from a retention pond near the intersection.
Investigators did not immediately release any information on the identity of the body or what led to the incident.
IMPD will be handling the investigation. The Indianapolis Fire Department will be assisting IMPD.
