INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died following an early Sunday morning shooting on the city’s east side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 3400 block of North Emerson Avenue shortly after 6:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. According to investigators, a passerby walking to a nearby gas station discovered the victim and alerted authorities.
The man, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, died at the scene.
Police have not yet released the victim’s identity or age.
Investigators noted that shell casings were recovered near the body.
