Driver dies after crashing truck into building at 10th and Emerson

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A male driver died early Saturday morning after crashing into a building near an intersection on the east side of Indianapolis, police say.

Crews took the male to a hospital, where he died. A passenger was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Emergency crews were sent just after 12:10 a.m. Saturday to a structure collapse at the intersection of East 10th Street and Emerson Avenue.

Images from the scene showed a truck had left a hole in the side of a building at 1008 N. Emerson Ave. The building sits next to a Conoco gas station.

No additional information was immediately available.
