INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A rematch of the 2024 6A state title game headlines the slate of games in Week 6 of the high school football season.
“The Zone” will have highlights from the following 23 games across central Indiana on Friday. Tune in to WISH-TV at 11:08 p.m. on Friday to catch up on all the action.
#1 (6A) Brownsburg at #5 (6A) Westfield
It’s a rematch of the 2024 6A state title game from. Brownsburg has won 10 straight games going back to last season. Westfield’s lone loss this season is at Carmel. Brownsburg beat Westfield in both matchups a year ago, but by a combined margin of nine points. Westfield has not beaten Brownsburg since the 2021 season. This is also a matchup between the last two undefeated teams in Hoosier Crossroads Conference action.
#3 (5A) Plainfield at Decatur Central
Plainfield is off to an undefeated start this season and has only played one one score game. Decatur Central has won three straight games, and has put up over 70 points in each of the last two weeks. Plainfield’s only two losses last season were against Decatur Central. The Hawks have won the last three matchups between the Mid-State teams. This is also a matchup between the last two undefeated teams in Mid-State Conference play.
North Central at #4 (6A) Carmel
Carmel (4-1) bounced back from its first loss with a dominant victory against Columbus North. North Central (2-3) picked up its second win of the season last week against Harrison. It’s the first time since 2020 that North Central has won more than one game.
Ben Davis at #9 (6A) Lawrence North
Lawrence North has won three straight games since its loss to Fishers. Ben Davis only has one win this season, but three of its four losses are to top ten teams (Avon, their other loss, is No. 11). The two teams have split their last six meetings.
#2 (6A) Center Grove at Lawrence Central
Center Grove is still undefeated and has beaten all of its opponents by double digits. Lawrence Central is 3-2 and is coming off a dominant win against Pike. Lawrence Central last beat Center Grove in 2017.
Avon at #8 (6A) Fishers
Fishers (3-2) looks to get back on track after losing by four touchdowns to Brownsburg last week. Avon (3-2) got back on track last week with a win against Franklin Central. Fishers has won the last four matchups between the teams.
Pike at #10 (6A) Warren Central
Warren Central has won four straight games since its season opening loss to Center Grove. Pike (1-4) looks to beat their conference foe for the first time since 2013.
#2 (4A) Bishop Chatard at Guerin Catholic
Chatard (4-1) got back in the win column against Brebeuf Jesuit after losing to Cathedral the week before. With a win, the Trojans would win the Circle City Conference. Guerin Catholic is 3-2 this season and coming off a lopsided loss to Roncalli.
Brebeuf at #9 (4A) Roncalli (tailgate)
Roncalli has won back-to-back games to get back above .500. Brebeuf is still searching for its first win of the season.
Trotwood (Ohio) at #4 (5A) Cathedral (@ UIndy)
Cathedral (3-2) has won two straight games and looks to keep the momentum going. Trotwood is Cathedral’s second opponent from Ohio this season. The Fighting Irish lost to Cincinnati St. Xavier in Week 3.
#7 (6A) Hamilton Southeastern at Zionsville
HSE has lots its last two games since starting the season 3-0. The Royals will look to bounce back against Zionsville, who picked up its first conference win last week against Noblesville.
Martinsville at Whiteland
Martinsville (2-3) has picked up two wins against conference opponents. Whiteland (3-2) is also 2-1 in Mid-State Conference action.
Perry Meridian at Greenwood
Greenwood has lost four straight games since it won its season opener. Perry Meridian (2-3) has lost its last two games. The two teams have split their last four matchups.
Mooresville at Franklin
Mooresville (3-2) is coming off a lopsided to Decatur Central. Franklin is 2-3, and is looking for its first win in the Mid-State Conference.
Speedway at Monrovia
Speedway is looking for its first win of the season and is coming off a loss to Triton Central. Monrovia (2-3) picked up its first conference win last week against Beech Grove.
Cardinal Ritter at Heritage Christian
Cardinal Ritter (2-3) is coming off a loss to Lutheran. Heritage Christian (3-2) has won its last two conference games.
Tech at George Washington
Tech (1-4) is coming off a shutout loss to Lawrence North. Washington (1-3) is looking to stay unbeaten in the Capital City Conference.
#7 (2A) Lutheran at Covenant Christian (@ Zionsville West Middle School)
Lutheran (4-1) has won back-to-back games after the start of conference play. Covenant Christian (1-4) has lost three straight games.
Tindley at Purdue Poly Englewood (@ Howe Middle School)
Tindley has lost four straight games since it started the season with a win against Edinburgh. Purdue Poly Englewood had started the season 4-0, but was shutout by Crispus Attucks last week.
Sheridan at Taylor
Sheridan (3-1) has started conference season with two dominant victories. Taylor (4-1) has won back-to-back games.
#2 (2A) Brownstown Central at Seymour
Seymour is still looking for its first win of the season. Brownstown Central is undefeated and has scored at least 56 points in every game this year.
Delphi at Clinton Prairie
Delphi (2-3) got back on track last week, beating Wes-Del. Clinton Prairie (2-2) lost to Sheridan last week.
Eastern Hancock at Park Tudor
Park Tudor suffered its first loss of the season last week to Shenandoah. Eastern Hancock is 2-3 and coming off a win against Knightstown.
