LAS VEGAS (WISH) — Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark announced on social media Saturday that she was fined $200 by the WNBA for a comment she made on an Instagram post.
Clark wrote on X that the league fined her for commenting “Refs couldn’t stop us” on an Instagram post.
In her post on X, she added that the “BENCH MOB WILL BE EVEN MORE ROWDY TOMORROW LETS GOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
By saying “tomorrow,” Clark was referencing the team’s next playoff game, which will be on Sunday when it faces the Las Vegas Aces in Game 1 of their WNBA Playoffs semifinal round best-of-five series. The series will begin on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. EDT in Las Vegas.
Clark’s teammate, fellow Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, quoted Clark’s X post on Saturday saying, “that’s gonna really break the bank for her. starting a GoFundMe now!” in reference to the $200 fine.
Clark is not playing this postseason after suffering a season-ending right groin injury.
