Colts look to keep the winning rhythm against Titans in Music City Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — “One band, one sound.”

That’s how linebacker Zaire Franklin described how the Colts are playing right now. Pretty appropriate metaphor as the Colts ride into Music City to take on the Titans this weekend.

Indianapolis shot off like a rocket to start the season 2-0 for the first time sine 2009. Now, the Colts hit the road for the first time this season facing AFC South division rival Tennessee in Nashville.

On paper, the matchup looks pretty lopsided. The Colts’ chemistry is at an all-time high as they try to stay perfect through three weeks, while the Titans are still searching for their first win behind this year’s No. 1 overall draft pick and quarterback Cam Ward.

Despite being on the opposite sides of the proverbial spectrum, Colts head coach Shane Steichen isn’t overlooking how big of a test this game will be.

“My message is discipline,” Steichen said. “Trust in the process every week, every day, every meeting. Obviously, division games on the road are always tough, and we’ve got to stay locked in, focused on the details.”

As for the Colts players, they’re looking forward to hitting the road together.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing on the road,” quarterback Daniel Jones said. “I think in a hostile environment, and it’s your team, I think there’s some part of that that brings you closer. And you’ve got to pack together and go in there and get a win. So, I’m excited for our first opportunity to do that this year.”

“I love it. I love being a road dog,” Franklin said. “I think coming on the road and winning on the road, is always opportunity for the team to grow closer. We already have a huge close-knit team. So, I think it’s just another challenge for us obviously against a talented Tennessee team.”

The Colts come in to the game in Nashville with the confidence of a team that’s still 2-0, but they’re also no satisfied with what they’ve accomplished so far.

“Whatever we did in the past, last week, nobody cares about,” Colts defensive lineman DeForest Buckner said. “That’s the nature of this game, the nature of this league. Nobody cares about what you did last week. It’s what you are going to do this week. So, we’ve got to continue to prove ourselves each and every week.”

The Colts will have everyone available against the Titans. Cornerback Charvarius Ward returns after missing last week’s game against Denver in concussion protocol, while tight end Tyler Warren will be available after dealing with a toe injury during the week.

Indy’s topped Tennessee the last four times. They’ll try to make it five and stay unbeaten Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern.
