Man identified in deadly house fire in Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A 35-year-old man died in a house fire on Sunday in Fort Wayne, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.
The fire happened in the 200 block of East Crown Lane. That’s in the Hillcrest housing addition southwest of the intersection of U.S. 27 and East Paulding Road on the city’s south side.
Selvin Perez-Polanco died due to smoke inhalation and thermal burns in an accident, the office said.
Fort Wayne fire and police departments are investigating the fire, the office said. The fire department has not announced a cause of the fire on its website.
Indiana Department of Homeland Security reports Allen County has had one adult fire death through July this year, when its website was last updated. Across Indiana, 45 adults and a juvenile died in fires from January through July.
