You can ‘Be Kind, Rewind’ next year at the Indiana State Fair’s VHS Revival exhibit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — If you remember the saying “Be Kind, Rewind,” the new exhibit the Indiana State Fair just announced for 2026 may be the nostalgia fix you need.

The Indiana State Fair is rewinding the clock to the golden age of home video next summer with the new exhibit REWIND: A VHS Revival.

REWIND will feature a collection of large-scale works originally created by Art & Sign Productions and displayed at video stores from the 1980s through the early 2000s. Visitors will also discover the artists and designers who turned film promotion into high-impact street art.

Along with a gallery of massive movie posters, the exhibit will also have live painting sessions, interactive installations, the retro-cool Moulin Rouge cocktail lounge and a display of rare VHS-era collectibles from the AOM collection.

Anna Whelchel, chief marketing and sales officer for the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center, says fair officials were inspired by the popularity of this year’s Art of Music Experience: Vinyl Revival exhibit, which showcases some of the most iconic album covers of all time.

“Our guests love taking a trip down memory lane, but they also want it done in a fresh, artistic way,” Anna Whelchel said in a press release. “REWIND: A VHS Revival will take that same immersive energy and transport guests back to the blockbuster video era, when movie nights started in the aisles of your favorite video store.”

Whelchel promises that REWIND will be bigger, bolder, and packed with even more nostalgia.

Fair officials announced the 2026 REWIND exhibit from inside the Vinyl Revival exhibit on Friday morning to kick off the state fair’s final weekend, giving fans a first taste of what’s to come in 2026.

The Vinyl Revival exhibit is open at the Harvest Pavilion through Sunday.

Dates for the 2026 Indiana State Fair will be announced soon.
