Wicket World of Croquet returns
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Croquet, cocktails, and community are back this weekend as the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site hosts the 31st annual Wicked World of Croquet.
“It’s such a great event,” said Lindsey Beckley, marketing manager for the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. “It’s all for a good cause, raising money for education and teaching civics and history.”
The event is known for its all-white dress code, but organizers say there’s room for personal flair. “All white, whatever your style is,” Beckley said. “Streetwear, suits… just wear white in honor of the tradition.”
You don’t have to be a seasoned player to join the fun. “All are welcome,” Beckley said. “The tournament is full, but spectators can still grab a ticket and even play a game with our community team.”
General admission tickets are $10. An all-access pass is $75 and includes lunch, drinks, and snacks.
“Not every shot goes in,” Beckley joked while enjoying a playful match in WISH-TV studio A with Daybreak’s Jeremy Jenkins, “but it’s all about having fun.”
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. Advance registration is required.
