INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives on Thursday helped an 18-year-old woman escape from a human trafficking situation, and arrested a suspect.
On Thursday, IMPD officers were dispatched to check a welfare investigation in the 9000 block of Wesleyan Road. Officers arrived and made contact with an 18-year-old woman.
Officers became concerned that the woman was involved in a potential human trafficking situation. Detectives requested and were granted a search warrant, eventually locating the alleged trafficker and one other potential victim. Detectives found evidence to indicate commercial sex acts. Cocaine and marijuana were also found.
Lovie Grace, 31, was arrested and preliminarily charged for human trafficking, corrupt business influence, possession of cocaine with intent to deal, and possession of marijuana with intent to deal.
