March 10, 2026 morning forecast with Tara Hastings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Incredibly mild today with mostly cloudy conditions. We do have a severe weather risk developing later tonight and into Wednesday. All severe weather modes are in play and we could see some more heavy rainfall across parts of the state that don’t need any more rain. It turns colder for the end of the week with temperatures getting closer to normal by Thursday.

TODAY: Mild today with high temperatures climbing near 74. If we hit 74 that will tie a record high that was set back in 2009. We will see winds a bit gusty at times out of the south and southwest near 20 to 25 miles per hour.

An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible but a better chance of thunderstorm activity arrives later tonight.

TONIGHT: Strong to severe thunderstorms are likely later this evening. We have a slight risk or level two out of a level 5 that some of the thunderstorms see will reach severe criteria.

The greatest risk for tornadic activity will be across parts of northwestern Indiana. Timing will be sometime after 7:00 p.m. during the overnight hours strongest severe thunderstorms may reach across parts of central Indiana including Indianapolis. Heavy rainfall and gusty winds will also accompany the thunderstorms.

Low temperatures tonight will fall into the low ’60s.

TOMORROW: On and off showers and thunderstorms will be likely throughout the day on Wednesday. Some of those thunderstorms could be on the stronger side with gusty winds and heavy rainfall. We do not need any more rain across much of the central and southern sections of Indiana. However the potential is there to get maybe an inch or more in some spots. High temperatures on Wednesday will climb to 68.

7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST:

Much cooler conditions head  this way on Thursday. Temperatures will be around 48 degrees which is much closer to normal for this time of the year. Look for sunny conditions on your Thursday. More wet weather arrives on Friday with a chance for some showers and temperatures near 58.

Temperatures continue to be above normal and near 60 for Saturday and Sunday.
