INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Get ready to party like it’s 1999. The Downtown IMAX at the Indiana State Museum is bringing Prince to the big screen in a way fans have never seen — or heard — before.
Starting Wednesday, Aug. 28, fans of the Purple One can experience his 1987 concert film “Prince – Sign O’ The Times” in larger-than-life sound and visuals.
At the time of its release, “Prince – Sign O’ The Times” was praised for its electrifying performance, cinematic storytelling, and emotional depth. Now remastered and enhanced for IMAX, the concert footage captures Prince in his prime: stagecraft, soul, and sequins included.
The film features some of Prince’s most iconic songs, including the title track “Sign of the Times,” “Little Red Corvette,” “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” and “U Got The Look,” his smash hit with Sheena Easton.
“In a film that blends glam, gospel, rock, and revolution, Prince reminds us why his legacy still reigns supreme,” IMAX Theater Manager Neale Johantgen said in a release. “This is your chance to see the legend the way he was meant to be seen: bold, brilliant, and bigger than life.”
“Prince – Sign O’ The Times” is set to run Aug. 28 – 31, with various showtimes available.
