The festival, founded by Justin Jett, will feature over 37 acts, including local talent and international artists, creating a diverse lineup of blues, folk, Americana, and bluegrass music.
“We want fans and people coming to bring their instruments. We’ll have a jam tent,” Justin Jett, founder of Pickin’ in the Backwoods, said.
“It’s a bucket list for me,” musician Candi Jenkins, who will be performing at the festival, said.
The festival is designed to be more than just a series of performances; it’s an immersive experience where attendees can participate in dance lessons, camp, and enjoy the natural beauty of Brown County.

The event aims to break down barriers between artists and fans, allowing for personal interactions and shared musical experiences.
“It’s not just your typical festival,” Jett explained, emphasizing the interactive nature of the event. “You could probably potentially walk up and talk to your artists that you love.”
Candi Jenkins, who traveled from Nashville, Tennessee, to perform, highlighted the festival’s appeal to musicians as well, noting the opportunity to engage with fellow artists and fans in a relaxed setting.
With its focus on community and creativity, Pickin’ in the Backwoods promises a memorable weekend for music enthusiasts. Tickets are limited, ensuring an intimate experience, and are already selling quickly.
