INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Pacers have re-signed big man Isaiah Jackson to a three-year, $21 million contract.
The news was originally reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Jackson was a free agent after spending the first four years of his professional career with the Pacers. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round and then sent immediately to Indy in a five-team trade deal.
The 6-foot-9 center played only five games this past season after tearing his right Achilles tendon in November. The injury happened in the fourth quarter of the 7-point loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The move comes after the Pacers longtime big man Myles Turner “shocked” Indiana’s front office by signing a four-year, $107 million contract to play for the Milwaukee Bucks. Turner played for the Pacers for 10 years after the Blue and Gold drafted him in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft.
Over Jackson’s first four years in Indy, he averaged seven points and 5.6 rebounds a game after starting in 31 contests. He’s also made 60.9% of his shot attempts.
