INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man on a bike died Friday after he was hit by a box truck on the city’s southwest side, Indianapolis police said.
Just before 12:15 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to an accident in the 1500 block of South Lynhurst Drive. That’s in a residential area in the Stout Field neighborhood, just north of Sam Jones Expressway near the Indianapolis International Airport.
The driver of the box truck stayed at the scene and was cooperating with police, according to IMPD Public Information Officer Tommy Thompson.
Investigators are not sure what led to the crash.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name at a later date.
No other information was immediately available.
