Online police reports show Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were first called to a homeless encampment in the 700 block of South Tibbs Avenue for a death investigation around 4:40 p.m. Thursday.
That area is near railroad tracks just north of West Morris Street.
When they arrived, they found the unidentified man with unspecified trauma injuries. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
IMPD says homicide detectives have continued the investigation. The Marion County coroner would release the man’s identity at a later date.
