BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A man was arrested Thursday morning for operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury after crashing his vehicle into a tractor at a Bloomington intersection.
At 5:40 a.m. Thursday, deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a farm tractor in the area of West State Road 45 and South Duncan Road. Deputies arrived and found that a 2004 black Dodge Ram had rear-ended a Massey Ferguson farm tractor.
The tractor driver, Jesse Prince, 62, of Bloomington, was initially pinned and unable to move. He was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital by ambulance for his injuries.
Monroe County Fire Protection District personnel treated the driver of the Dodge Ram for his injuries. The truck driver, Jared Hash, 31, of Bloomington, was taken by deputies to the hospital for further investigation.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstructionist was contacted due to the severity of the crash and injuries. This crash is under investigation. The roadway was closed from 5:40 a.m. until 8:20 a.m.
Hash was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury and a previous conviction.
