Police search for 12-year-old boy in Madison County
GILMAN, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Madison County are looking for 12-year-old Gavin Purkey, who they believe may be in extreme danger.
They say Gavin is autistic and attracted to water.
Information from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said he was last seen at 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. Thursday on a trail camera in the 4700 block of County Road 1000 North. That’s near the unincorporated community of Gilman. That’s east of Alexandria near the Delaware County line.
Police say he was wearing a gray shirt and black shorts. He was described as 5 feet, 5 inches and 180 pounds with blue eyes and light brown hair.
The sheriff’s office said on a social media post that Gavin will not respond to his name and will not walk toward anyone calling for him.
Anyone with information on Gavin’s whereabouts is asked to call Madison County dispatchers at 765-642-0221.
